After about two weeks of experimental exercise, the system for cooling water production by the so-called Free Cooling is now in continuous service from Jan. 01 2018.

The agreement – signed last year for a duration of about six years - provides for the design, construction and financing of the work at the expense of CO-VER Power Technology and the sharing with MEMC Electronic Materials S.p.A. of the economic benefits deriving from energy saving.

The plant has a refrigerating capacity of 3,100 kW and will allow an estimated electricity saving of about 3,600 MWh, corresponding to approximately 670 tonnes of oil equivalent (TOE).
